I know exams is coming soon~ So, why not do a post to help you guys?
I'm not really good at studies, but here are some tips i loveee to use during test/exams periods.
My most important tip for me is :
Re-write/read the notes you taken down in class!
Re-writing/reading notes that you taken in class, it always helps me on remember the stuff that i learn. Mostly i will re-write because i will remember better, or if i have no time ( e.g. my notes are really long and didn't got to finish rewriting it as a revision ) i will just read as much as i can.
Speaking about notes, colour coding them are really helpful ( for me ). Like i will use red for important notes to take note, purple for normal extra notes that you will write at the side ( rather then the normal blue pen that might not make you have a interest to study ) and highlighters to for words that needs to be memories.
Some other ways can be like using post it notes, colour foolscap ( i saw popular selling it ) and maybe mind mapping ( not really recommended as it can't be too detail, but it helps you to summaries what you learn for the chapter though. )
Some of you may just woke up or tired after a day in school, and you are really tired but you told yourself you need to revise for this subject. Here are some ways to keep yourself awake:
- Have a good breakfast
Waking up really tired and shag ( like don't feel going school ) ? I have feel like this too, but after having a good breakfast really change the day, it gives me energy to stay awake .
- Secretly have a sweet/ drink that is sweet
For me, sometime having a sweet could give me a boost. If you like coffee, take a sweet that taste like coffee ( Singapore have this really nice coffee sweet, i kind of hate it but not much ) or you can buy pink dolphin ( i know some school don't allow sweet drinks to class like my school, pink dolphin from the outside really looks like plain water so just remove the plastic/ cover on the bottle and you are good to go.
Feeling bored after 30 minutes of studying?
Feeling bored after 30 minutes of studying?
- Pump it up with some techno/clubbing song
You know how clubbing songs drive people active/ "high" and wants to dance. Yup, i think listening to it or songs that can hype you up can really makes you by like " ok, let's get this done and i will get my free time!"
( eg. outside by calvin harris & ellie goulding , latch , sugar and many others )
- Set a goal/ treat yourself a reward
You may ask, what goal/ reward and what for?
Having a goal/ or a need to receive the reward makes you want to complete the task. ( This may work for some people and may not too )
Goal can be like i must try get this subject a B, and rewards can be like " after this revision, i get to go out and enjoy myself with my friends / i can get myself a drink from starbucks " .
Are you like me unavailable to focus because of your lovely soft bed that makes you fall asleep after studying awhile or your computer that makes your itchy finger clicking to youtube and watch videos ?
A solution for me is to just study outside ( eg. most burger, starbucks, smoothie king and etc ).
Though it can be noisy, i will be listening to my music most of the time. It makes me focus because there's nothing to do except for studying the stuff that i have in front of me, and I'm available to sit there for 1-2 hours straight revising ( there will be a 2-5 min break like change song or check messages )
Ok, now let me talk about outfits you can wear if you want to study out.
For me, i will like to be comfortable but yet still stylish.
I will throw on a crop top/ oversized shirt, high waisted shorts and a jacket.
For accessories, just a choker and a ring ( optional, rubber waist band )
( H&M, $39.90 )
( Topshop, $19.90 )
( Topshop, $69.90 )
If you are going to the airport or somewhere chilly, You can throw on a sweater and ripped jeans.
( Topshop, $89.90 )
If you are going out after studying and you want something more to your outfit, you can wear those fake collar shirt ( instead of really wearing a button up shirt inside in Singapore. ) and tada!
That's all i have today, i hope you like it!
